Podcast and Chill - My favorite Podcasts you need to be listening to
This list is in no particular order and most have nothing to do with the other. However, they all have provided me with value and when I am feelin uninspired or stuck in my craft I turn to these Podcasts to get my head on straight.
The Skinny Confidential Him + Her - This Husband and Wife duo, Michael Bosstick and Lauryn Evarts are a powerhouse couple. As a major fan of Lauryn’s blog, The Skinny Confidential, I was drawn to check out their podcast. Lauryn has always brought “realness” and no apologies for who she is and I love that! No fake shit please. She continues to bring it in the podcast where her and Michael deliver a wide range of insight from beauty, health, business, relationships and more. Episodes to Check out? Self-Care 101 With Lauryn, The Ladies Coach - Intimacy, Self Love, Cheating, Confindence…
The Rise Podcast with Rachel Hollis is my jam. Rachel will kick you right into gear when you need it. She is the perfect boost when you are feeling unmotivated. I recommend you check out her Youtube channel and her New York Times Best Selling book, Girl Wash Your Face. It - is - so - good. I have read it twice. Rachel always says. “I am not your cheerleader. I’m your coach” and its true. She’s not here to coddle you but to get you up off the couch and inspire you to live your life to the fullest. Please check out her podcast. Here are some of my favorite episodes you can start with: Daily Habits That Change the Game with Brendon Burchard, The Most Important Things I Do Every Year
The Rise Together Podcast - Want honest and constructive relationship advice? This is the best relationship podcast out there in my opinion and I have been searching for awhile. Motivational Speaker, Rachel Hollis, and host of The Rise podcast got so many requests for her and her husband, Dave Hollis, to create a relationship podcast that she did! For those of us who can’t afford therapy this is a great place to find tips to connect and create the relationship you’ve always dreamed of. My husband and I actually listen to this together while we are cooking sometimes and it has really helped us connect. You must check out the two episodes where Dave and Rachel give their points of view on Five Ways to Show Up For Your Partner. Click here for Rachel’s and Click here for Dave’s.
Writing Class Radio - As you may or may not know I am going to be in Volume 2 of [Dis]Connected: Poems + Stories of Connection and Otherwise. When I received the news I was more than thrilled but then I realized, oh shit, I have to write a story. 5,000 words. I scoured Pinterest and Podcasts looking for writing advice. To be honest what I found wasn’t great but then I stumbled upon Writing Class Radio! It’s a podcast surrounding an actual writing class. The hosts are Andrea Askowitz, the teacher and student, Allison Langer. The episodes consist of tips and stories written by the hosts and students. The stories made me cry, made me think and made me remember my life and how I can tell my story. It’s really opened be up. If you are a writer I highly recommend that you check it out. Here are two episodes that touched my heart. Beware the first one is a tearjerker. The Hardest Thing to Write About and The Lies We Tell
The Gary Vee Audio Experience - I wish I could remember how I discovered this guy but Gary Vaynerchuk has changed the way I think about being an author in incredible ways. He opened my eyes to what hustle means and how we should be taking advantage of all the hours we’re blessed with in a day. Unintentionally he has become one of the most powerful motivational and inspirational speakers for entrepreneurs today. His podcasts last anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour delving out nuggets of information on marketing, branding, self-awareness and how to get ahead doing what you love. His delivery may not be for everyone (dropping f-bombs) but I love people who keep it real and he does. His focus on growing with integrity and providing genuine value to the audience makes him one you should definitely check out. There are so many episodes that have blown my mind so its impossible to choose a favorite but here are a couple that are more than worth a listen.
